John's Rohloff hub MTB

John was after a mountainbike frame to run 100mm suspension forks and a disc-brake version of Rohloff's internally geared rear hub. As usual the white was difficult to get a good photo of. Painted to match his Fox F100 fork.

He's a big fella at 106kg, so the rear stays were upgraded to the beefier Dedacciai chain and seatstays. It was time to break out the Black Cat Bicycles swinger rear dropouts I've had sitting here, that Todd was good enough to sell me. They do a nice job of allowing the chain to be tensioned, quick removal of the rear wheel and come with an integrated disc brake mount. As usual with this kind o dropout, it looks a little different at the rear.

The Rohloff hubs run twin cables which are commonly run as a full-length housing, so securing all that requires lots of braze-ons, zip-tie hydro guides in this case.

This bike will also use in place of the Rohloff Speedbone, a Cyclemonkey Monkeybone, a post-mount brake adaptor, to engage with the Rohloff hub's OEM2 torque-arm.
